Recovery Through Faith

We know God has a plan to rescue His people.

Unshackled Resources Ministries is a bible based addiction recovery ministry

We know God has a plan to rescue His people. For more than thirty years our lives were pained and broken by the consequences of drug and alcohol abuse. We were spiritually, emotionally, mentally and financially devastated and couldn’t stop the cycle of destruction. (Psalm 107). Finally by God’s power we were set free after being guided step by step through prayer, faith and the application of God’s word to address our character to become both sober and victorious.

Unshackled Resources is an outreach ministry of the Narrow Gate Family Life Church. It a bible-based addiction recovery ministry with curriculum's that address the youth, the elderly, the abused, the incarcerated and the hopeless. This is not a 12 step program but a ministry and the Bible is our Blue book. We achieve this by providing the tools needed to be successful. We facilitate training for churches as well as providing continuing support and additional resources.

Since one out of four Americans lives with or is intimately connected to someone who is addicted, it is safe to assume that you know one. Many of the afflicted in our churches and communities are pastors, teachers,

Co-workers and family members, young and old alike.

Drugs spare no one and so many lives are devastated by the ravages of addiction, many have lost hope and are crying out to God.

The Facts

Last year in America alone, over 25 million people used illicit drugs and this amount does not include alcohol use which has doubled in the last two decades. 120 million people are on prescription drugs with an estimated abuse by 50% of the users. This prescription drug use has given rise to the Opioid epidemic. Over 50 million people including 5 million children smoke cigarettes, which is not thought of as a drug but yet cigarette related deaths have killed more people than WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam and the current Global Wars. We also have a new trend of elderly abusers between the ages of 50 to 75 who have battled decade long unaddressed addictions. Conservative economic costs put the abuse of alcohol at over $100 billion. These also do not include the massive costs related to drug abuse and nicotine addiction. According to the Surgeon General’s report, tobacco use, particularly smoking remains the number one cause of preventable disease and death in the United States.
